Why Scanned Certificates Exceed 100 KB and Fail Portal Checks
Portals such as gst.gov.in (for cancelled cheques, bank statements, and signatory proofs), state e-District services, and scholarship portals enforce a hard 100 KB ceiling to cap server storage across millions of filings.
Why Standard Scanners Produce Multi-Megabyte Files
Mobile scanner apps capture color photos at full sensor resolution with warm paper shadows and embed them inside a PDF wrapper. Compressing color noise straight down to 100 KB (102,400 bytes) smears small digits unless resolution is stepped down methodically. Our engine strips PDF overhead first, downsamples embedded images progressively, and applies optional grayscale conversion so text edges stay readable.
Keeping QR Codes, IFSC Digits, and Official Seals Legible
- Crop away desk backgrounds before scanning: Dark table edges around an A4 sheet waste kilobytes that belong to your document text.
- Use grayscale on monochrome certificates: Income, caste, domicile, and authorization letters rarely need RGB channels; grayscale doubles effective sharpness under 100 KB.
- Keep a realistic page budget: A 100 KB ceiling comfortably holds one to two color pages or three to four grayscale pages; avoid bundling unneeded pages into one upload.
