Why Photos Fail on the Saudi eVisa and Umrah Portals
Unlike visa systems that downscale large uploads on the server, the Saudi eVisa form validates exact pixel geometry and byte bounds in the browser before letting your application advance.
Exact 200×200 Pixel Match vs Larger Square Crops
A square US visa photo or phone crop is still rejected on Visit Saudi when its width and height exceed 200×200 px. Conversely, aggressive compression at 200×200 px can push a smooth white-background portrait below the 5 KB (5,120-byte) floor, while unoptimized exports overshoot 100 KB (102,400 bytes). Our encoder tunes JPEG quality so the output lands squarely inside 5–100 KB at 200×200 px.
Format Mismatches, Mobile Cropper Glitches, and EXIF Tags
Uploading a renamed PNG, WebP, or iPhone HEIC triggers format errors or a blank built-in cropper on mobile browsers. Re-encoding on a local canvas outputs baseline sRGB JPEG bytes with upright pixels and zero EXIF or XMP segments.
Background and Appearance Checks
- Plain plain white backdrop: Grey wall shadows, textured curtains, or off-white color casts trigger automated or manual review rejection.
- No glasses or tinted lenses: Keep both eyes clearly visible without frame obstruction or flash glare.
- Headwear rules: Religious headwear is permitted when the full facial oval from hairline to chin and both edges of the face remain unobstructed.
